My Story

As a competitive gymnast growing up, I could never be still. Movement has now become how I process the world and make sense of my emotions. Through dancing, walking, and exploring new ways to move, I’ve learned to work through emotions in my body rather than staying still. As a late-diagnosed ADHDer who lives with chronic pain, I understand both the relief of finally having language for your experience and the ongoing process of learning how to live in rhythm with your own mind and body.

Like many people, I’ve had to learn how my own reactivity and nervous system responses show up in relationships. Learning to pause, regulate, and respond with intention has been an ongoing practice in my own life, and it deeply informs the way I support folx navigating conflict and attachment patterns. It often feels true that we’re all in recovery from something. Mine has been a slow practice of loosening the grip of people-pleasing.

My therapy practice strives to continue to question oppressive expectations, disrupt the status quo, and move away from people and environments that ask me to be small. I want my work to hold the steady rhythm of the ocean and the rootedness of trees. Together, we can cultivate a space where you are unapologetically human.

What it’s like to work with me

  • My metaphors, while elaborate at times, will help you conceptualize your attitudes, beliefs, and feelings about a particular experience or person.

  • I won’t tell you what you “should/shouldn’t do”, I’ll ask reflective & curiosity driven questions instead.

  • I bring up your younger self often, because he/she/they deserve to have a voice in the room as well.

    • Fluent in Spanish - reading, writing, and speaking.

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over five years of experience providing direct individual therapy.

    • Strong foundation in supporting individuals across diverse backgrounds, including varied religious beliefs, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

    • Well-versed in mental health disorders and DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, while maintaining a holistic, person-centered approach that sees people beyond their diagnosis.

    • Experienced in working with parents, families, and children, providing insight into the complexities of family dynamics and child development that informs my inner child healing approach.

    • Committed to ongoing education, intentionally seeking trainings led by people of color and ensuring that continuing education is culturally responsive and relevant.

The type of person I work best with

  • You may identify as an over-thinker, caregiver, or high-functioning adult who feels emotionally exhausted or disconnected beneath the surface.

  • Many of the people I work with are insightful and self-aware, but still feel stuck.

  • There’s an interest in learning more about how mindfulness, body awareness, and collaborative reflection can support meaningful and sustainable healing.

  • Learning for you is supported best with visual explanations to make complex emotional and nervous system experiences more understandable.

  • Often, there’s a quiet tiredness from pretending to have it “all together”, alongside a desire to have a place to land and be listened to.

  • I’m also well-suited to working with people who think and talk tangentially and want support in expressing their internal experience without flooding or shutting down.
